Logitech Ergo K860 broken key — MX Keys compatibility

Repair a broken Logitech Ergo K860 key: 90% compatibility with MX Keys, ergonomic specifics and available parts.

The Logitech Ergo K860 (920-009166) is Logitech's split ergonomic keyboard with its curved shape and integrated wrist rest. Good news for repair: 90% of its keys share the MX Keys scissor profile. So a broken K860 key is repaired with a standard MX Keys key. Exceptions: central split keys (space, B/N) which have curve-adapted dimensions.

Diagnostic

Identify the zone: (1) Lateral keys (letters, modifiers) = MX Keys compatible; (2) Central split-curve keys (space cut in 2 sections, B and N) = K860-specific parts; (3) Easy-Switch buttons = standard. Most breaks hit laterals — so an MX Keys key suffices.

Méthode

  1. 1

Identify if the key is lateral (= MX Keys compatible) or central curved (= K860-specific).

  2. 2

Order the matching key: standard MX Keys for laterals, dedicated K860 for centrals.

  3. 3

Lift vertically and remove the split hinge if needed.

  4. 4

Place the new hinge, clip the new key on.

FAQ

Does the K860 use the same hinge as MX Keys?

Yes, exactly the same universal MX Keys scissor hinge. Available from us at €5. The K860 split spacebar uses different hinges — contact us if you need this specific part.

Can I convert a standard MX Keys into a K860?

No, the keyboard's physical shell is totally different (split curve + wrist rest vs straight standard). Keys are 90% compatible, but the case isn't. If you want K860 ergonomics, you need a K860.

Is the K860 still produced?

Yes, still in Logitech's catalog in 2026. But Logitech doesn't sell individual parts — hence our service. Available in AZERTY FR, QWERTY US, QWERTZ DE.

Ergo K860 = curved MX Keys. Lateral keys replaceable with standard MX Keys parts (€8-15). Only central curve keys need K860-specific.
