Logitech K950 broken key — MX Keys compatible

Repair a broken K950 key: full compatibility with MX Keys parts, and where to find dedicated K950 parts.

The Logitech K950 (920-009315) is Logitech's mainstream wireless keyboard, more affordable than MX Keys but with a very similar scissor mechanism. Good news for repair: 95% of K950 keys are compatible with standard MX Keys parts. Same profiles, same hinges, same dimensions. Only a few special keys (productivity shortcuts) are K950-specific.

Diagnostic

Recognizing a K950: no backlight (unlike MX Keys), no USB-C (micro-USB charging), 3 Easy-Switch buttons on side, more minimalist design without curves. Keys very similar to MX Keys but missing some printed characters (Logi productivity). For repair, select "MX Keys" in the catalog.

Méthode

  1. 1

Identify the broken K950 key and note the layout (AZERTY FR most common).

  2. 2

Order the key from the MX Keys section of the catalog (95% compatible).

  3. 3

Lift the broken key vertically, remove the split hinge if needed.

  4. 4

Place the universal scissor hinge, clip the new key on.

FAQ

Why is the K950 cheaper than MX Keys?

No backlight, no USB-C (older micro-USB), no Logi Bolt receiver included, no SMART ACTIONS button. Otherwise mechanically identical to MX Keys. Good budget choice if you don't need premium features.

Are all K950 keys MX Keys compatible?

95% yes. Letters, numbers, F1-F12, modifiers, arrows, space: all compatible. A few productivity shortcut keys (very K950-layout-specific) may have a slightly different printed character — but physically identical.

Does K950 still get firmware updates?

Yes, via Logi Options+ like MX Keys. Logitech continues updating K950 until end-of-life (likely 2027-2028 given recent launch).

K950 = 'lite' MX Keys. Identical repair with MX Keys parts, equivalent pricing (€8-15 depending on key type).
